If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.
If a child learns to feel shame, he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement he learns confidence
If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate.
He a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.
If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, he learns to find love in the world.

What is your parenting style? Do you hover like a vulture, jutting out your talons at every wrong move?

Do you offer praise when you see your child do a kind act he thought nobody noticed? -Like share a small toy, try a new food without complaining, hold a door for his sister, wrestle with his little brother playfully while you made a casserole....

Pay attention as much to the positive as the negative.... Catch your children doing good. It's something I have to work on every. single. day.
:-)

Give yourself a report card every day. How did you do? If you're not sure, as your children and apologize when needed. Even adults need to admit their shortcomings. Children are forgiving souls and love with open arms. So should we....

Moral of my story? Hug more, yell less!
