Summer Daze of Dance

As our Heavenly Father said there will be;
"A TIME TO WEEP
AND A TIME TO LAUGH;
A TIME TO MOURN
AND A TIME TO
DANCE."

( ECCLESIASTES 3:4 *NKJV )

After the recital, Daddy gave her some roses. Mommy didn't know
Daddy was doing that, so that made it extra special.

During her acro number to 'Sea Cruise', she sits it a straddle split in the back a few times.

I'm a Little Eskimo, and I'm here to let you know, we have lots of ice and snow,
way up North where the cold winds blow!

Dress Rehearsal... Check

Ah, yes, the day long awaited for has finally arrived. And it went swimmingly! -The most streamlined dress rehearsal I have ever been a part of, actually! The girls did a great job and I thought I would post a few highlights. Above are the cousins three, Kaity, Elli and Annie....
They don't like to get their photos taken or anything. :)

Annie and Sydney Wise, Lisa and Tom's beautiful daughter. I include this photo not only because they are darling little things, but also because this is the daughter of a friend that I took dance with for many, many years. I find it so funny that they are in the same classes at Dotty's!

Annie onstage singing and dancing to "Little Eskimos."

My precious niece, Elliana. Have you ever seen a cuter sweetie?

And here is my Sweetie Pie or 'Pinky' as has become her nickname lately.

Where are my boys? you might ask. Well, my darling friend, Megan Reeher babysat, thank goodness! She is such a great friend to help out that way and I thought you all should know! She not only played with the kids, she also cleaned my microwave and oven! I thought perhaps that a fairy had done it because it was so clean! But she assured me it was just her and a great new cleaner called Greenworks All-Purpose which I will be running out to buy ASAP!!!

The Finale! Jeremiah was a Bullfrog.

Samuel

Today I received a call from our children's director asking if yesterday was the first time Samuel had gone up to receive Christ. I was surprised by the message because I did not know he had done this! So Annie asked Sam if he asked Jesus into his heart and he said, "Yes." Then I asked him and he said, "I changed my mind. I don't want to go to heaven." I thought he must think he will go there soon and is frightened about death. Nope, too deep. I asked him why not and he said, "Betause Jake will be there and he will bite me!" I explained that in heaven there are no biting dogs. So he said, with real tears in his eyes, "But Mommy, what about the lions?" I said, "Nope, lions won't bite either." And he was still not convinced. "But lions bite in battle." I said they won't bite him... He said, "What about the T-Rex? I am scared of T-Rex!"
So, needless to say, it was an interesting conversation. It's good to know a child's perspective. I am amazed at how they think sometimes. But it is hard to imagine a friendly T-Rex, I have to admit. :)

Name Ideas? Anyone?

Since I still do not have a charger for my camera, I figured I would post this sort of a survey post. Since we know we are having a boy, we would like name ideas! You can post your ideas in the comments section- (you do not have to be a registered user to comment.) Jeff's requirements for the name are that it must be masculine, trendy enough, but no too trendy. Mine are easy to pronounce from the spelling, must go with our last name (Corbett) and would prefer, but not limited to different cadence or syllables between first, middle and last name. Also, meanings are important to me. So if it is a fabulous name but means 'tire' or 'hay stack' or 'misery' I won't use it. Jeff is Scottish descent, I am mainly Native American and German. Not that the name has to be from these backgrounds. Corbett means Raven, just for your information. Our names thus far are Annie Mackenzie, Austin James-Gregory, Samuel Isaiah, and Caeden Israel. Also, we look at what the initials spell. Just in case it spells something silly.

Thanks for all your ideas!!!!!!

Ultrasound Day

11:27 AM Posted In , Edit This 4 Comments »

I wanted to wait until we got a new battery charger for our camera before posting. But this could take a while as our camera is very old. So, I decided to go ahead and post sans photos. I know, it is a sad thing. :( ,,,,,, <- tears.

On a happy note, we had our ultrasound, sonogram, scan, whatever you call it, on the 4th! Yay! I always look forward to these with excitement and apprehension. This time, however, I was just excited! Jeff had told me he did not want to find out what little person is residing in the "Womb House" as the kids call it. So, I was very much wanting to know, of course. We are always opposite, you know.

So we arrived at the Great Lakes Institute of Technology (A teaching facility) right on time- not! Of course we were 5 minutes late. Then as we were driving past the main entrance, Jeff saw a "Use Rear Entrance" sign which I did not see.

So, we went to the back door and were immediately confused. Thankfully a man was there and he showed us how to get to the front entrance. We then discovered the sign wasn't for us! So we could have went to the front entrance after all.

We skipped registration, so the lady had no clue we were there. But she took us back anyhow. As I was signing the paperwork, she commented on how beautiful our children are and then asked if this was my first pregnancy. Ha ha.

The instructor began the scan and asked Annie if she wanted a sister for her team. Annie, of course, shook her head! Then she looked at me and asked if we knew what we were having. I said no. I expected the next question to be, would you like to find out? Instead, she blurted, "Sorry honey, you are not getting one for your team!"

Hello?!?! Did I miss the question? Did she ask and I answered without knowing? I laughed and looked at Jeff and he was smiling, as well. So gladly, he wasn't upset. Annie had a frown and looked like she might cry, so I felt badly for her. But after about a half an hour, she jumped into the truck and announced, "Mommy, I'm okay with another boy." I said, "Well, that's good because we can't change it!" LOL!
The baby appeared to be sucking his thumb and behaved very well for the ultrasound. Didn't seem to mind at all! Afterward, they invited us back every month! I think that would be overkill, but nice to know they liked us.

So, Annie got to tell everyone since she had been promised to be the one to announce if it was a girl or boy at the birth. She seemed to appreciate this. Maybe someday Annie will get a sister. Only God knows!
In the meantime, another brother means many things:

God knows what He's doing.

We got the gear!

No searching for Annie's old baby clothes!

No added cost of more dance lessons!

I am simply used to boy babies! And happen to like them.

Boys are so cuddly and more needy than girls- at least this has been my experience. And I like to be needed. It's a mommy thing.

More soldiers for the army of God! How exciting to be raising men of God. I look at the Lilly's in our church and so enjoy seeing what amazing men of God they have raised! I feel extremely blessed that God has given this privilege to us.

More Corbetts to carry on the family name! God values this and even though this isn't revered as much in our culture, it is still very important. And let's face it, Corbett is a GREAT name!

My husband is too incredible not to be excited that there will be another extension of him around! Look out girls, we have some amazingly handsome men coming your way in a few years.

I am so happy to be name thinking with the knowledge that we need to focus on boy names!

We can start imagining what another boy will mean!

Another set of bunk beds!

OK, that's all I can think of! Will post some pics when we get that charger.

Soccer Tournament

Annie and Austin played in their end-of-the year soccer tournament on Sunday. They had a fun time! Their team name is Belize and they won their first game! So they got to play the next team. They lost that game, but had a good time. Annie scored 6 goals total and Austin had some assists and near goals. I am excited to see how far they have come in their understanding of the game. I am amazed at how good they are at 6 and 4! They had a picnic for the teams and parents which was nice. Although I forgot to bring plates and forks! Flatware! I always forget the flatware! It is my trademark to forget that. Luckily Debbie Hickly brought extras and some lady gave us a few more plates. So it all ended well. But man, I will tell ya, I am gonna bring a ton next year for LOTS of people forgot this! :( Daddy had fun co-coaching the team this year and I hope he will be able to continue to coach in the fall.
